Transsion Holdings has become the latest Chinese firm to enter the Indian mobile market with the launch of Infinix brand of smartphones. Parul Manchanda finds out what all the new entrant has in store for mobile-savvy Indians…

NEW DELHI, AUGUST 11, 2017: Chinese firm Transsion Holdings has launched Infinix  smartphone brand with series Note 4 and Hot 4 Pro in India priced at Rs.8,999 and Rs.7,499 respectively. The smartphones will be available exclusively for sale on Flipkart. Initially, the products come with a free one-time screen replacement within the first 100 days of purchase.

“India is an extremely significant market for us. The Indian smartphone industry is ever changing. Our vision for Indian market is to become a preferred choice for young consumers by designing products that compliment their lifestyle and make technology innovation affordable. Infinix is a global company that produces superior quality products. We are using cutting edge technology for manufacturing of our products. Infinix smartphones will be successful in capturing Indian market,” said Infinix Global Head Benjamin Jiang at the company’s entry into India.

Infinix India CEO Anish Kapoor said: “Being a new player in the Indian competitive online smartphone market, consumer and product is at the centre of our “Go Beyond” philosophy. Our dedicated R&D team has evaluated the digital consumer needs and introduced unique features. Our partnership with Flipkart will be instrumental in making Infinix range of smartphones available pan India. We are targeting an online market share of 8-10% by 2018.”

Talking about ‘Make-in-India’ campaign, Mr. Kapoor said: “We are looking forward to produce made in India products. Currently the smartphones are manufactured in China. The prices have been decided according to the Indian market and keeping the GST tax rate in mind. We have tried to keep the minimum price of smartphones for Indian customers.”

Apart from latest features and hardware, the Infinix smartphones come with “freezer option” which freezes the unused apps thus saving data consumption and battery. Customers can also do multi-tasking on the device which allows the use of two applications simultaneously.

Both the devices comes with dual SIM options with a MicroSD card slot. It supports 4G LTE bands with VoLTE support for HD calls and faster call connection. The smartphones have a fast fingerprint sensor for secure phone unlocking which will take less than 1 second to unlock the device. Both the handsets support GPS, W-Lan, and G-Sensor.


Note 4 comes with 5.7-inch Full HD IPS Display and powered with a big battery of 4300mAh Lithium Polymer with a 18W unique Xcharge technology which charges 75% of battery in just 60 minutes. It features 13 MP rear and 8 MP front camera with large 1.14 pixel size comes with customizable LED flash to deliver optimum light while clicking selfies.

Note 4 comes with latest Android Nougat operating system and has a customised XOS UI layer for enhanced user experience. It has 32GB of internal storage and is powered by an Octa-Core processor with 3GB RAM for superior performance. It will be available in three exciting colours — Ice Blue, Champagne Gold and Milan Black.


Hot 4 has a vivid 5.5 HD IPS screen 5 inch 2.5D curved Glass Display with Android 7. It comes with 3GB RAM, 16GB internal storage with an option to expand its storage up to 128GB. It features 13 MP rear and 5 MP front camera. The device is powered with 4000mAh battery which can provide two days of uninterrupted usage.

The dual-speaker Hot 4 has ‘Noise Reduction Technology’ which allows users to listen conveniently even in the noisiest surroundings. It is available in three colour options — Bordeaux Red, Quartz Black and Magic Gold.
