NEW DELHI, JUNE 4, 2017: The battle for supremacy for best data speeds among mobile operators continues, with Reliance Jio Infocomm again topping the charts, leaving behind Idea Cellular, Vodafone India and Bharti Airtel.

As per latest data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) for the month of April, Reliance Jio clocked an all-time high download speed of 19.12 megabit per second (mbps), bettering its previous performance of 18.48 mbps.

TRAI, which collects and computes data download speed with the help of its MySpeed application on a real-time basis, also reported that Idea Cellular’s data network stood a speed stood at 13.70 mbps, while Vodafone network’s speed was 13.38 mbps.

Interestingly, Bharti Airtel, which has been claiming that its network speed was the best and even certified by global speed test and Internet diagnostics company — Ookla, could clock only 10.15 mbps in April.

In upload speeds, Idea clocked highest in April at 8.45 mbps followed by Vodafone at 7.3 mbps and Reliance Jio at 5.3 mbps. Here also Bharti Airtel remained at fourth position with 4.6 mbps upload speed, TRAI data stated.
